As the final quarter of 2013 came to a close, the Barnegat Light New Jersey real estate market continued to show strong activity. The Long Beach Island area and the LBI real estate market recovered well from the damage of Hurricane Sandy and summer 2013 was a great success. While some areas of LBI still recover and rebuild, Barnegat Light, which was sparred major damage, retains its popularity. This is evident in the Barnegat Light NJ real estate sales for the fourth quarter of 2013.

Barnegat Light NJ Real Estate Sales Fourth Quarter 2013
Sales of single family homes in Barnegat Light for the fourth quarter of 2013 were as follows:
- 10 single family homes sold
- The average price of a single family home was $672,000
- On average, homes spent 184 days on the market
The average price of a home dropped somewhat in the fourth quarter however it is still a strong number for the area. There were three homes selling under $500,000 which also contributes to a lower average number. The least expensive sale was for $395,000 and the most expensive was for $1,250,000. The homes sold range from small Cape Cods in need of renovation to contemporary, move in ready homes on the oceanside or bayside.
The LBI real estate market as a whole has returned to some level of normalcy as the inventory of storm damaged homes diminishes and more and more move in ready homes are sold. The average price of the area will almost certainly increase as these renovated and rebuilt homes come on the market at higher prices. This will impact the market as a whole by increasing the value of vacant land and tear downs.
