Beach Haven 125 Year Anniversary
The history of Beach Haven stretches back to 1867 when 666 acres of undeveloped land was purchased for $243. This land was destined to become the town Beach Haven and offer the best in seashore amenities. Development of Beach Haven in 1874 and was marked with luxury hotels such as the Engleside and Baldwin Hotels. Beach Haven West incorporated in 1890 and featured a public school, a number of summer and year-round residences, a church, yacht club, and fire department. Beach Haven has maintained its popularity and is today known as one of the most thriving sections of Long Beach Island. There is an exciting downtown district with shopping, dining, and amusements.
To commemorate the anniversary, Beach Haven will be celebrating around the year. A special anniversary beach badge has been issued to commemorate the 125 year anniversary. In addition, there will be townwide concerts, more races, parades, picnics, and additional events.
