2019 started off rather slow with less buyer activity (but stable prices). The spring real estate market on Long Beach Island has changed that trend. We have seen a higher number of sales recently more in line with the past 2 years (which were some of the strongest on recent record). Buying a Home in the LBI Real Estate Market in Spring 2019 may make sense for several reasons. Inventory levels have risen and interest rates have fallen. Overall the LBI real estate market on Long Beach Island is looking strong and even though there are some signs of a natural slowdown, buying a home still makes good sense.

Buying a Home in the LBI Real Estate Market in Spring 2019

There are several reasons that the spring real estate market on Long Beach Island may make sense for a buyer:

  • The number of homes for sale in the LBI real estate market has risen recently
  • Interest rates have remained low and home prices have remained stable
  • The LBI rental market has been strong this year so buying in the spring can set you up well to take possession of a sizable rental income

The most significant of the above reasons are increased inventory levels. While interest rates, pricing and timing help, if there are no good homes to purchase than these supporting reasons do not help much. We have seen very low levels of homes for sale on LBI in the past several months and only recently have new listings corrected this. While the data shows it is still a buyers market, the higher number of homes available increased the chances of finding the right home on Long Beach Island. Interest rates have remained low and this is a multiplying impact on the price of a home. Lower rates of course reduce the long term cost of ownership and that in of itself can be a compelling argument to move on a property.
