The Holiday Season and the Long Beach Island Real Estate Market
Timing is everything and this is certainly true when buying Long Beach Island real estate. It is important to remember that the entire LBI real estate market centers around the summer season. There are distinct times of the year that we see an increase in buyer activity throughout the LBI real estate market. Generally speaking, the holiday season is not one of them. This creates opportunities when buying LBI real estate over the holidays because very often, there is less competition.
Buying LBI Real Estate Over the Holidays
The holiday season is known for many positive things. Buying real estate on Long Beach Island is not one of them. As I mentioned above, there are distinct seasons where we see measurable and reliable trends developing in the LBI real estate market. When looking to buy a home, this can be used to your advantage in making a purchase with considerably less competition. A slowdown in the LBI real estate market can be attributed to a few factors such as:
- An increase in holiday travel among perspective buyers
- A focus on purchasing holiday gifts rather than purchasing LBI real estate
- Local real estate agents being distracted from their job thanks to holiday travel, parties, etc.
No matter the reason, there is a measurable trend that shows a slow down during the holiday season. When looking to purchase a home in the LBI real estate market, this can justify a lower offer as you will most likely face less competition. In addition, with less competition a seller may begin to wonder if there is a problem with the house due to low activity. This can be used to a buyer’s advantage when buying LBI real estate over the holiday season.
