Long Beach Township is the largest town on Long Beach Island. “The Township” covers approximately 12 of the 18 developed miles on Long Beach Island. Being the largest town on LBI, there are some interesting projects and opportunities offered for summer fun on Long Beach Island.

There are a few highlights that make up Long Beach Township in Summer 2014. They are:
- Long Beach Island beach replenishment
- Free shuttle bus on LBI
- LBI Freedom Fest
Beach replenishment is a top concern for many residents of Long Beach Island. Beach replenishment involves taking sand from the ocean floor and increasing the size of the beaches and dunes. This helps to protect LBI from strong storms and can minimize flooding. The Army Core of Engineers plan to being the replenishment project in Fall 2014 after the summer season has passed. Long Beach Township will be offering a free shuttle service for the 2nd year in a row! This service offers rides between 10 AM and 10 PM anywhere in Long Beach Township. This is a great service that cuts down on summer traffic congestion and helps the environment! The LBI Freedom Fest is designed to honor and remember those who serve our great nation! The event will take place July 4th and July 5th at 68th Street in Brant Beach NJ. The LBI Freedom Fest will consist of a 5k run followed by food vendors, beer, wine, bands and a car show! The event promises to be a great time to celebrate America! Long Beach Township Summer 2014 offers fun for everyone. In addition to the events listed above, there are many events planned by Long Beach Township such as free concerts in Bayview Park. Of course, the life-guarded beaches are open and the stores and restaurants on Long Beach Island are ready to serve vacationers!
