While the popular saying, “a bad day at the beach is better than a good day at work” is true, rainy days can dampen (pun intended) the fun LBI offers. Even if it is not beach weather, there is still plenty to do on Long Beach Island NJ. Below are some of the most popular rainy day activities on LBI New Jersey:
- Fantasy Island: Fantasy Island, located in Beach Haven, offers an indoor arcade with all the popular games one would expect at the shore. You can play arcade games, ski ball and win fun prizes!
- Museums: There are two popular museums in Beach Haven. They are the LBI Historical Museum and the LBI Maritime Museum. Both offer guests the ability to learn about LBI’s past and have a great time doing so!
- Schooner’s Wharf and Bay Village: While most of Schooner’s Wharf and Bay Village are located outside, there are covered walkways connecting most of the stores and restaurants allowing for shopping and dining in spite of the rain. While there you can pick up some rainy day activities like a board game at The Toy Store or entertain yourself with a puzzle!
- Barnegat Lighthouse: While most of the park is located outdoors, Barnegat Lighthouse can be climbed (as it is inside) and the view from the top will be spectacular! Seeing Long Beach Island from the top of the lighthouse on a rainy day gives a very different view than if you have only visited when the sun is shining!
