Beach Haven Real Estate
Beach Haven NJ on Long Beach Island New Jersey
Beach Haven New Jersey is one of the oldest seashore resort towns in America and is arguably the most famous town on LBI. Starting with only a few beach cottages and a motel, during the 1800s, Beach Haven grew in popularity thanks to a rail line from Philadelphia. The natural beauty of Long Beach Island and the proximity to major cities helped put the area on the map. Beach Haven quickly grew in popularity and saw a rapid rise in tourism. Beach Haven was given the nickname "The Queen City" to compete with Atlantic City, whose nickname at the time was "The Crown Jewel of the Atlantic." Beach Haven helped fuel the popularity of Long Beach Island, and Beach Haven, along with the other towns on LBI, took their place among the popular summer vacation destinations on the Eastern seaboard. Today, Beach Haven is home to a fantastic residential community complemented by most of the shopping, dining, and amusements on Long Beach Island. Beach Haven is home to Fantasy Island, Bay Village & Schooner's Wharf shopping center and many restaurants, boutique stores, and mini-golf courses. Beach Haven NJ is boarded by North Beach Haven to the north and Holgate to the south.
Beach Haven NJ Real Estate
Beach Haven NJ Real Estate on Long Beach Island NJ offers some great buying opportunities, but it is not for everyone! Being that Beach Haven is where most of the attractions are located, the northern part of Beach Haven tends to be a busy area. Therefore, other areas in Long Beach Township or South Beach Haven may better suit your needs if you want something slower-paced. A good compromise can be the area known as South Beach Haven, also referred to as the LEHYC section. South Beach Haven is located south of the attractions and tends to be much quieter. LBI real estate prices fluctuate between the northern and southern areas of Beach Haven, with South Beach Haven generally being more expensive. The Beach Haven real estate market is comprised of single-family homes, condominiums, and duplexes, as well as the only co-op on Long Beach Island! Beach Haven offers the strongest rental market on LBI with excellent rates of return. The rental market helps stabilize the sale market as the rent rates and high demand for the area can offset ownership costs. To summarize,
Beach Haven real estate can be separated into "Beach Haven real estate" and "South Beach Haven real estate."
Beach Haven real estate offers lower prices while being closer to attractions but is still in line with the rest of the LBI real estate market.
South Beach Haven real estate is higher priced and a quieter area, but a longer distance to all the fun!
Certain areas, mainly near Long Beach Blvd, have issues with flooding.
Specific beaches, near motels specifically, are very crowded
Beach Haven performed well on the whole through Hurricane Sandy. Much of the damage occurred on the bayside and along Long Beach Blvd as was the case with much of the rest of Long Beach Island. Since Sandy, Beach Haven has seen a wave of new construction and aggressive town planning to help prepare for future storms. Overall, Beach Haven is a wonderful place to call home on LBI!
