The second quarter of 2014 showed almost twice as many sales as the first quarter! The LBI real estate market as a whole was very active and Barnegat Light was no exception. It is very common to see buyers begin a serious home search in January and February which usually translates to a strong second quarter. Barnegat Light Real Estate Market Sales Second Quarter 2014
Single family home sales in the second quarter in Barnegat Light were as follows:
- Seven single family homes sold
- The average sales price of a single family home in Barnegat Light was $889,571
- On average, homes spent 145 days on the market
The higher average price was higher thanks to all homes selling at a higher number rather than one or two high end sales. The least expensive home to sell in the Barnegat Light Real Estate Market Sales in the Second Quarter of 2014 was a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home for $662,000. By comparison, in past quarters the least expensive sale was around $500,00 or less. The most expensive sale was a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath oceanside home trading at $1,095,000. Homes spent longer on the market than in the first quarter, however the days on the market is still well in line with the rest of the LBI NJ real estate market. In fact, it is a little lower than the market’s average of about 180 days!
Overall, the LBI real estate market had a strong second quarter. Both the number of homes sold and the average sales price was higher in 2014 when compared to 2013.
