Long Beach Island or “LBI” as it is known is a barrier island off the southern coast of New Jersey in Ocean County. While there are stores, attractions and restaurants throughout Long Beach Island, the majority of the attractions are located in Beach Haven on the southern end of LBI. Bay Village and Schooner’s Wharf are two separate outdoor shopping centers that together offer over 50 unique stores and restaurants! While there is always some turnover in the stores, there have been several staple stores that no trip to Long Beach Island is complete without:
- Country Kettle Fudge: This long run family fudge shop offers some of the best fudge in town! Hand whipped in their store, they offer free samples daily!
- The Toy Store: Located in Schooner’s Wharf here you will find a great mix of the old and new! Popular brands like Lego, Playmobil and Hasbro sit along side of kites, beach toys, puzzles, games and much more!
- Buddy’s Pet Stop: Located in Schooner’s Wharf this store reminds you to bring something home for your furry friend! The store boasts a large selection of toys, treats and accessories for cats and dogs.
If you are looking for something to eat Schooner’s Wharf and Bay Village have you covered. There are excellent ice cream parlors like Carmella’s and the Happy Skipper, wonderful dining options such as The Gazebo serving quick American style food and The Maine Course specializing in seafood and snacks galore. After some time spent shopping you can stop by the other attractions located nearby such as Thundering Surf, Fantasy Island and try your hand at some mini-golf! Bay Village and Schooner’s Wharf on Long Beach Island NJ do not have a set “open” or “close” date but generally the stores are open In July and August 10 AM-10 PM and daily in the off season. During the winter months the stores are generally closed and getting ready for the next summer of excitement on beautiful Long Beach Island NJ.
