There are many aspects to owning a rental property on Long Beach Island. Each case is different, and as such, there are some tips not listed here to increase the amount of money you can generate. I work with all my sale clients who have an interest in renting to help them understand the best way to maximize their rental returns, but a few basics are:

  • Hire a good cleaner
  • Get professional photos
  • Advertise on multiple platforms

Clean houses rent. It is that simple! The better you maintain your home, the more likely you are to have repeat guests stay. This will also lead to better reviews and a better reputation with any real estate agents who rent the house for you. It is also the right thing to do for your tenants! Professional photos are a must-have in the rental market. With more and more tenants booking online, having good quality and up to date photos is a requisite for renting your home on Long Beach Island. Lastly, spread the word that your home is available for rental. There are national and local by owner rental sites that you can and should take advantage of in addition to real estate agents. You can also use social media to advertise for free. Some excellent Facebook groups highlight and discuss the summer rental market. One word of advice avoid Craigslist at all costs. There are many scams on that site, and it is best to avoid them.
