Flood Zones in the LBI Real Estate Market May 2023

Flood zones are areas that are at risk of flooding during heavy rain or in the event of a storm surge. Essentially this is all of Long Beach Island! These zones are designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and are used by insurance companies to determine flood insurance rates. In LBI, there are several flood zones that buyers should be aware of. The most common are the V and A zones. The V zone is the most at-risk zone, with most of the homes in this zone located directly on the oceanfront . The A zone has a slightly lower risk, with most of these homes located on the oceanside or bayside of Long Beach Island. You should also consider purchasing flood insurance to protect your investment.
