It's Chowdertime on LBI! LBI Chowderfest 2012
The annual Chowderfest on Long Beach Island NJ is scheduled for September 29th and September 30th 2012-rain or shine! This popular event promises to be as fun and exciting as it has been for many past years. Typically, the Chowderfest is held the first weekend in October, however this year it has been moved to the last weekend of September. The theme of LBI Chowderfest 2012 is based on the singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffet and his iconic song, "Cheeseburger in Paradise".
The Participants
The 2012 Chowderfest will feature many of the same participants as past years, with a few new additions in the mix. Local restaurants will feature their red or white clam chowder (red is Manhattan and white is New England for those of you who are unsure) and each restaurant brings its own unique twist to this classic shore soups. Apart from winning for having the best chowder, restaurants can also enter the contest for the best-decorated booth, best use of theme, etc.

Tickets to Chowderfest may be purchased ahead of time on the official Chowderfest website or by visiting the Chamber of Commerce on the Eastbound Causeway towards Long Beach Island.
