February is nearing an end, and while there has not been a lot taking place on Long Beach Island, LBI is far from boring! There are normal fun activities like going for a walk on the beach (which is great any time of year); we had some snow days, school dances (which my kids always enjoy), and one of the biggest fundraisers for the Beach Haven Fire Department, the annual Fireman's Dinner. This small-town event draws more people than one might expect and has been a staple in Beach Haven for 107 years!!! The firemen volunteer their time and cooking skills, area restaurants donate the food, local school students serve the tables, and everyone (including my uncle pictured above) has a great time. It is a great experience and something that is worth a visit, even if just for the day.

Life on LBI- February Update

As February closes, we will start to see LBI wake up in March. Many consider March the unofficial start of spring and many residents start to open their homes. March is also a busy time for real estate as renters and home buyers look to finalize their plans for summer. Look for more stores and restaurants opening soon, as well as more local events taking place!
