Many buyers start their home search in winter and early spring to be ready for a summer closing. To that end, a seller in the LBI real estate market should endeavor to make their home look as welcome and inviting as possible. LBI Real Estate Seller Tips Winter 2022 and 2023

There are three common steps all sellers should take in the LBI real estate market over the winter market. They are:

Have a landscaper clean up the yard
DO NOT store outdoor furniture in the home
Turn the heat on and leave the windows open

Curb appeal is very important, especially in the winter. It can be tempting to skip a fall cleanup, but when you are selling your home on Long Beach Island, this can make a significant difference. A quick cleanup of dead plants, leaves, etc. will make the home look better cared for. Outdoor furniture should never be stored inside the home. This can be a major turn-off for buyers in the LBI real estate market when trying to sell your home. It makes viewing the room spaces more challenging and doesn’t let a buyer see how the deck is set up in summer. Lastly, make sure the home is comfortable. It is COLD on Long Beach Island in the winter, and the inside of a home can be even colder. Leaving the heat on will make a buyer feel more comfortable. This typically leads to the buyer spending more time in the home and, in turn, hopefully liking it more. Along with the heat, make sure window blinds are not closed for showings. The extra light will help!
