The Unofficial End of Summer on Long Beach Island NJ
Long Beach Island
It is Labor Day 2023, and this post will begin a new section on my website called “Life on LBI”. The inspiration behind this has to do with so often being asked, “what is living on LBI like all year?” So, this section of my website will seek to answer that question. My intention is to post regular updates about things going on, daily events and personal experiences that make living on Long Beach Island such a wonderful experience! I felt that today, Labor Day, which is the unofficial end of summer, was a good time to start. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Life on LBI-Labor Day 2023
Labor Day is commonly accepted to be the end of summer, and this is true on Long Beach Island. All day we have seen a steady flow of traffic leaving the Island, and there is certainly a quieter feeling to LBI tonight. Tomorrow begins what is known as “local summer”, a time of year that is as nice or nicer than July and August, but with far fewer people. The weather temperature is very pleasant, the water tends to stay warm through most of September and there are still plenty of stores and restaurants open for business. Perhaps best of all, there is usually very good surf throughout September, there was today and I spent a good amount of time in the water as a result! Since COVID, the season has certainly extended though September and October, and if you can find some time to come and visit LBI in the fall, it is worth the trip!
