Long Beach Island NJ (LBI NJ) September Update

Long Beach Island Living

We are halfway through September on Long Beach Island, and it is shaping up to be a wonderful month on LBI. Most would agree that September is the best month on LBI, and this year reinforces that. The weather has been very nice, the water is very warm and the beach is just as nice as it is in summer-only with less crowds! There are still many things happening on LBI too! Clam Jam just took place and there are still lots of stores and restaurants open on Long Beach Island.

Life on LBI-The Middle of September

The past weekend LBI hosted “Clam Jam” which is a local surf contest in Brant Beach. Hurricane Lee, which thankfully stayed off the coast, provided some great wave conditions, and it was a fun event. This contest is hosted and sponsored by local surf companies, and it is a lot of fun to see even if you don’t surf! Weekends still have plenty of things to do, ranging from events like Clam Jam to craft shows and fairs featuring many local vendors and artists. The majority of stores and restaurants are still open, and it is very pleasant to enjoy a meal or shop with a slower pace.
