2013 First Quarter Sales in the Barnegat Light NJ Real Estate Market on LBI

Barnegat Light Real Estate

Barnegat Light was spared much of the damage from Hurricane Sandy which made landfall at the end of October 2012. While there were some homes that suffered damage, compared to most of the rest of LBI, the damage was minimal. This has helped to keep the Barnegat Light real estate sales market strong.

Barnegat Light Real Estate Sales First Quarter 2013

Barnegat Light is the northern most town on LBI and appeals to many buyers for its natural charm and quiet beach atmosphere. Barnegat Light real estate sales of single family homes for the first quarter of 2013 are as follows:

  • Two single family homes sold in the first quarter of 2013

  • The average sales price was $662,500

  • The average days on market was 50 days

While only two sold single family homes may seem low, it is important to remember that Hurricane Sandy caused a great amount of short term fear regarding buying a home near the beach. Even an area such as Barnegat Light which suffered only minimal damage is still not immune to the great fear concerning shore real estate markets on Long Beach Island. Thankfully, as the truths about flood insurance become more and more known, confidence has returned to the market and encouraged stronger sales numbers.
